Live the Aquatic Life this spring and summer! Print Article Font Size
It’s time to pull out the bathing suit, dust off the goggles and dive into fun at the Golden Swimming Pool!

This May long weekend get back in the pool, have some fun and achieve your fitness goals! There are Public Swims, Aquafit, Red Cross Lessons, Master’s Programs and private swim lessons for every age and ability. Become a member and help to support this great community facility! Opening day is set for Saturday, May 21st!
Town of Golden Recreation Services Coordinator Kim Bryan says that the Golden Pool is important to the community because it is the perfect place for residents to learn how to swim and how to be safe in and around the water.

“The pool is the best place to learn drowning prevention and with this new found knowledge you will feel safer around the many waterways that we have here,” she explains. “Not only is important to know how to swim well yourself, but to give your kids or grandkids the skills and knowledge they need to be safe in and around the water. Just knowing that your kids have learned about water safety will help you feel more at ease.

“Also, people are able to maintain a healthy body and mind with regular activity. Whether they choose to take up something a little more structured like lessons or if they’re just dropping by to cool off after a bike ride. The water really does provide something for everyone!”

Manager of Recreation Services Jordan Petrovics says that the Town pool is also a great place to get to know the people in your community.

“Our recreation facilities are much more than just a place people come to swim, skate or play sports.  They are places people come to enjoy our community and the people who make it such a great place to be. We are committed to share the passion of swimming with you this summer,” says Petrovics.

In Golden, the benefits of having a membership extend beyond the social aspect and into your pocket book. For a child membership, it is less than 75 cents per day to support the pool. For an adult, $1.25 – less than a cup of coffee – helps to support your pool. For a family, the cost is less than $2.75 per day. And, when you become a member at the pool, pricing includes unlimited access to all drop-in programs at the facility.

This spring and summer season, live the aquatic life and showcase your pride in your community services by becoming a member!
