Stay active with public programs at the Arena and Rec Plex Print Article Font Size

Fall is officially here and that means programming is ramping up at the Mt. 7 Rec Plex and Golden Arena.

Be sure to get involved and stay active by purchasing your Universal Pass this season. A membership gets you access to any drop-in activity offered at the facilities. Memberships are available at the adult rate ($130) or senior rate ($88) and they’re valid for all drop-in programs until the end of April. That’s 13 different programs offered 22 times a week! That includes badminton, volleyball, basketball, European Football, Pickleball and Winter Walking at the Rec Plex.

But it doesn’t end there. The Universal Recreation Pass also grants access to winter Aquafit classes, shinny, pond hockey and public skate at the Arena! ToG Recreation Services also offers a family puck-and-stick program, parent & tot skate at the Arena, and Parent & Tot Play at the Rec Plex – also accessible with a Universal Pass.

This year, the Recreation Services Department is continuing to support initiatives that fall in line with the department’s mission to facilitate a healthy and vibrant community for residents and visitors through effective operations of all Town facilities and support for existing and new user groups.

Now in its second season, ToG Rec Services has partnered with some great volunteers to host drop-in women’s hockey and drop-in Silvertips hockey. For just $10 you can drop in and play!

It is easy to become a volunteer. Simply get in touch with us and let us know what kind of program you would like to facilitate. Then, sign up to be a volunteer! We will provide the liability coverage required to run a program and will set you up with access to the facility. It only takes about an hour of your week and you get the benefit of taking part in an activity you enjoy.

The Recreation Services Department is always looking for your ideas on how to grow existing drop-in programing and introduce new activities. Be a part of the action, for yourself, your family and friends!
