Wildfire Smoke Advisory Issued For Columbia District

The Ministry of Environment has issued a Smoke Advisory for the Columbia District because of forest fire smoke. This advisory includes the municipalities of Revelstoke, Golden, and Radium Hot Springs. Note that this advisory is an expansion of the advisory originally issued for Golden on August 17. Smoke concentrations will vary widely as winds, fire behaviour and temperatures change. This situation is expected to persist until mid-day Thursday.

Golden View Road Detour

The construction of the Golden Hill to West Portal (PH3W) section of the Kicking Horse Canyon Project requires Emil Anderson Construction to shift Highway 1 traffic onto the new Golden View Road detour.
